- Local Learning Records & Progress Data: Generated card decks, card edits, spaced repetition (SRS) ratings (Again / Hard / Good), quiz scores, and match game records. These are stored locally in your browser's LocalStorage and are not silently collected to our servers.
- Technical & Rendering Preferences: Browser type, viewport size, language preference (16 languages supported), and dark/light theme setting for seamless responsive rendering.

AI Flashcard Maker is built with a local-first philosophy. Your decks, question edits, and memory proficiency scores live in your browser. You can export your data at any time as Anki decks, CSV files, or JSON datasets, retaining full sovereignty over your study history.
3 How We Use Information & Zero-Selling Policy
Information is processed strictly for the following purposes:
- Generating Adaptive Study Decks: Analyzing uploaded materials to synthesize key concepts, definitions, multiple choice questions, true/false items, and written recall prompts.
- Powering Cognitive Retention: Applying Active Recall and SM-2 Spaced Repetition algorithms to schedule timely reviews right before memory fades.
- Multilingual Interface Delivery: Rendering interfaces and content in your selected language.
- Platform Security & Abuse Prevention: Mitigating automated scraping and maintaining system stability.
Strict Commitment: We NEVER sell, rent, or trade your personal information, study notes, or uploaded documents to third-party data brokers or advertisers.
4 AI Processing & Foundation Model Policy
When you submit notes or documents to generate flashcards, the text is transmitted via encrypted HTTPS/TLS channels to our AI inference pipelines:
- Ephemeral Processing: Uploaded notes are processed in memory to synthesize cards and returned immediately to your browser. Temporary processing states are promptly discarded.
- No Unauthorized Foundation Model Training: Your private lecture notes, unpublished research, and classroom slides are NEVER used to train or fine-tune public foundation AI models without explicit consent.
5 Data Storage, Export & Permanent Deletion
You have full autonomy over your data:
- Instant Export: Export your decks at any time to Anki TSV packages, Excel/CSV spreadsheets, JSON datasets, or formatted study notes.
- Immediate Deletion: Clicking "Delete Card" or deleting a deck permanently purges that data from your local browser storage. Clearing browser cache also removes all local cards.
- Erasure Requests: If you ever need assistance clearing any transient server connection logs, our compliance team is available to help.
6 Cookies & Local Storage
We do not use intrusive cross-site advertising cookies. We only use standard HTML5 LocalStorage to preserve your user preferences:
